This season properly snuck up on me. We were excitedly watching the Day 1 Highlights of Pre-Season Testing in Bahrain and the Weekend Warm Up team when Will Buxton says something about… “the race next weekend”… Wait… what?! Yes, indeed Race 1 is just over a week away on March 5th! I know it gets said too often but sometimes I feel like I am still in March 2020, so this is just one more mind-blowing time-out-of-time moment for me.

Hope you find some good recipe ideas from our previous forays into Bahraini and Middle Eastern Cuisine. I know I’ll be flipping through a few books and blogs this weekend to get some new inspiration as well! A good friend recently gifted me ‘The New Book of Middle Eastern Food’, and last year I got a copy of the beautiful cookbook ‘The Arabesque Table’ which I am still fawning over. I am also loving this Middle Eastern cookbook collection put together by Phaidon publishing, and may just have to drop a hint to my family for my birthday.

Cookbook perusing and recipe hunting will be my side project while we binge-watch Drive to Survive which comes out tomorrow! Since we have taken a bit of a hiatus on F1 news over the winter, I am excited to relive last season and catch up on all the drama to get ready for the first 2023 race in Bahrain next weekend!

As it feels like a tradition now, I want to share a few of my favorite moments and pastimes from the last few months. Some of my new favorite things have become bird-watching, reading and listening to audiobooks, and taking pictures of fungi! We are still enjoying getting outside of the house by hiking, kayaking, and exploring new places with our families. I’d love to hear what you do when you are not watching F1 or cooking!
