232: A Parisian "House Cocktail" a la Rebekah Peppler

I knew I would love reading this cookbook, À Table, as soon as I read the intro to the recipe for the “232” cocktail.

Rebekah Peppler starts out, “While I’m not advocating everyone have a house cocktail, I also am.” This cocktail is named after the number of steps up to her Paris apartment and tastes like summer and sunshine in a glass. She suggests throughout the book that entertaining should be fun, easy, and full of love and laughter. It is definitely a fun (and a bit irreverent) read and really makes you want to drop whatever you are doing and start hunting for that apartment in Paris.

At the very least, drop whatever you are doing and make this cocktail.

We served this with a cheese plate with cornichons, olives, fresh bread, and fruit. And sat around drinking, laughing, and musing about what our house cocktail might be.
