Bahrain GP 2022: Warm Roasted Cauliflower with Tahini Dressing, Pistachio Pilaf, and Red Kale Salad
The first race of the season is always exciting because there is so much unknown. These drivers in these cars have never driven a race distance fighting it out on track. Questions abound — what will the tires do, how will the brakes hold up, will the stewards get involved, who will crash into who??
The Bahrain track usually gives us a great race too, lots of opportunities for overtaking, strategy and pit stops make a difference, and the first race in the desert is a beautiful sight.
This year was no exception, with lots of drama and an exciting finish! So excited for the Ferraris and Leclerc’s win! A little sad to see McLaren so far down in the running, and a disappointment for Red Bull after such a strong start. A few good surprises up there too though, Yuki in the points, K. Mag living his best life, and Bottas with a great result. Looking forward to an exciting season ahead.
Hope you enjoyed the first race and made some delicious Bahraini or Middle Eastern food to go along with it! This year I cooked up some recipes from a beautiful Middle Eastern cookbook: Flavors of the Sun by Christine Sahadi Whelan. We made Warm Roasted Cauliflower with Tahini-Yogurt Dressing, Pistachio Pilaf, and Red Kale Salad with Date Syrup Dressing.
I am always excited to try new ingredients and this year I got some date syrup for the Red Kale Salad, I’d never had it before! I am looking forward to exploring new recipes with it. I’ve already found a few cocktails to try out, I will make sure to share the best ones with you!
