Turkey GP 2021: Pide, Gypsy Salad, and Shepherd's Salad
This race weekend saw Valterri Bottas’ first win in over a year… and Max jump ahead in the Championship. The exciting parts for me were watching Sainz pass his way up the field after starting in P19. Overall, I think this track has a lot of promise and I hope to see it in future F1 calendars.
We created a little vegetarian feast with Greens and Herb stuffed Pide (Oven-baked flatbread) and two bright and crunchy salads with interesting dressings and flavor combinations. The Anatolian Gypsy Salad definitely requires an adventurous palate with a blend of radishes, tarragon, and pomegranate syrup, but I loved it alongside the subtler flavored Pide. Lastly for dinner, another crunchy and bright salad: Turkish Shepherd’s Salad.
To finish the meal we had a rich and syrupy Revani Cake (Semolina Cake in Syrup). The cake is a densely crumbed semolina and ground almond sponge topped with dried apricots and drenched in a delicious lemony syrup.
